It's a little out of the way and depending on where you are coming from
you will spend some time in the car to get there, but Harbor Springs or
Petoskey is well worth the drive. My family and I spent most of
our time outside of the cities in Petoskey State Park.

Really
nice campground with this beach just footsteps away from my sisters camp
sight. The kids liked the bike ride we took down the path that was
right next to the bay. Some areas we could wade out into the water
and search for Petoskey stones. If you looking for a weekend
getaway this is it. |

| Just a bit farther
down the road is Harbor Springs. Lots of nice shops ...
expensive but another great place to go.
The water is crystal blue and at the end of the docks I was sure we
could see down 15 feet or better. We ended up staying in a Best
Western right by the small airport. Nice rooms ... Right price.
